Our Story

Born from a sister's love

Every great thing begins somewhere small and personal. For Hidden Courtyard, it began in India — in a fragrance studio built by a sister who believed that perfume could be pure, powerful, and free from compromise.

Since 2019, she has been crafting scents entirely by hand using natural ingredients. Her sister Zara watched. She experienced. And over four years, she understood that what was being created was not just perfume — it was a philosophy.

When Zara moved to the Netherlands in 2023, she brought that philosophy with her. In 2024, Hidden Courtyard was born — a bridge between craft and the world waiting to discover it.

The Founder

Meet Zara

Behind Hidden Courtyard is Zara — shaped by thirty years across India and the values her parents instilled in her. With a double MBA in HR, Marketing, and Finance, she built a career as an HR Business Partner and Diversity & Inclusion Lead at leading multinationals.

In 2023, life took a beautiful turn when she moved to the Netherlands to be with her husband. A new country, a new chapter — and the space to pursue a passion that had been growing quietly for years.

For four years, she had watched her sister create perfumes in India with extraordinary care. She had felt the quality, lived with the scents, and fallen in love gradually — the way you fall in love with anything truly made well. Zara brings to Hidden Courtyard what she has always brought to everything: a personal touch, an honest approach, and a genuine desire to help people find something that feels made for them.
